We do not have to think about how our loved ones will get there or where they will stay. However, before we start booking tickets, it is worth completing the formalities. What exactly are we talking about? What formalities await us if we want to get married in Iceland? Certainly it will be necessary to submit certain documents and we are talking about the marriage notification, or birth certificates of both parties.

It is also necessary to submit information that neither of the parties is married. This should not come as a surprise to us, however, because people who have not received a divorce cannot remarry. Additionally, all the documents mentioned above must be translated into Scandinavian or English.

It is also important to know when to complete the formalities in Iceland. It is usually stated that 3 weeks before the planned date of the wedding everything has to be done, and if something is forgotten the ceremony can unfortunately be cancelled.
